The HOSTS file is a simple text file that associates IP addresses with hostnames. On Windows Server 2003 systems, the file is %SystemRoot%\WINDOWS\System32\Drivers\etc\hosts. Each table entry in the HOSTS file contains an IP address separated by whitespace from a list of hostnames associated with that address. Comments begin with #.
